Presented by SIMCurtains, the Drama Society of SIMC, the first play of the season - Biwiyon ka Madarsa (BKM), goes live on Friday, the 31st of August at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. So come one, come all and breathe in some much needed drama into your lives!!!!

Media Relations Cell - Voice of the students, by the students and for the students!!

Media Relations Cell @ SIMC is now back, alive and kicking! A fresh new semester, a fresh new start. Yes. This is the space where we would bring you the happenings of the latest events at the Lavale Campus, so that you don't miss a single opportunity of your stay here.

SIMCatalyst

SIMCatalyst is an initiative by the Corporate Interface Team of Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication that gives every student the opportunity to interact with the industry. It is firmly believed that this interaction is necessary for both ends: the students to understand industry expectations and, the industry to evaluate the professional preparedness of the student community.

The event started up with the gathering of innovative ideas for the Print Media Industry. 

Dr. Bhaskar Das, President Marketing Times of India was one of the judges of the competition.The winning idea was, "colourless newspapers." The insight came from the fact that people like to scribble and it would be great if they came up with a colourless newspaper on special occasions like Children’s Day wherein the children can colour the paper as they want. As one of the winning team members said, “The major message was to inculcate reading habits in children.” The runners up gave the idea of making a paper bag with the first and the last sheet which carried the brand name on it. There were many other unique and original ideas by the other participants as well.

Fitness for Freedom

Fitness for Freedom, the sports event organized by the Symbiosis International University, was held on the 15^th of August. Twelve institutes of SIU, including  SIMC(PG), SIMC(UG), SIHS, SIMS, SCON, SSP, SIIB, SSBM, SID, SCMHRD, SIBM,SIT, took part in the event. The Fitness for Freedom Run was approximately for 3 kms for which the first three winners were presented with medals and certificates were given to those who made it to the top six positions.

Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan, Vice Chancellor, SIU was the chief guest of the event. Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, SIU ,Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences , Ms. Swati Mujumdar,Director SCDL, Dr. Ashish Phulkar, Director, Physical Education & Sports were the Guests of Honour. A total of 477 students took part in the event, among which the highest number of participation was from SIT with a total of 80 students. Around 80 faculty members from the SIU colleges participated in the event, including Chandan Chatterjee, Director, SIMC. Foreign delegates from Germany also took part in the event.

“Fitness for Freedom instills the feeling of wellness among the entire Symbiosis community.” said Dr. Ashish Phulkar.

Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences said, “There is an overwhelming response from the Symbiosis community, which has inspired me to start a new initiative called the Symbiosis run, which could be held at all the symbiosis campuses from next year onwards."
